Why Lintel House
What you can expect
when you work with us
We do not make bold claims about transforming your organisation. What we do offer is careful work, honest communication, and a genuine interest in the people dimension of your business.

Six things that shape every engagement
Listening before advising
We spend more time asking than telling.
Senior-level attention
Engagements are led by the people you met at the proposal stage.
Absolute discretion
Everything stays within the engagement. No exceptions.
Grounded in Malaysia
No generic frameworks imported from elsewhere.
Written deliverables
Every engagement ends with something tangible you can return to.
Transparent pricing
Fees are stated clearly before any commitment is made.
Expertise that comes from practice
Our consultants have held senior HR roles inside organisations before moving into consulting. That means we understand the constraints, politics, and pressures that your in-house team faces. We do not arrive with an outsider's detachment โ we have sat in the chair you are sitting in.
We also have a working knowledge of Malaysia's employment framework, which informs our observations without replacing proper legal counsel.
What clients often say: "You understood our situation without us having to explain the context from scratch."
What clients often say: "We knew exactly where we were at every stage, and nothing came as a surprise."
A straightforward, transparent process
Before we begin, we outline what we will do, when, and what you will receive at the end. During the engagement, we keep you informed at natural checkpoints. When we finish, we walk through the deliverables with you and answer questions.
We do not add scope without a conversation. We do not disappear and reappear at the end with a surprise report.
Thoughtful use of data and benchmarks
For compensation work, we use current market data sourced from salary surveys and comparable-firm analysis relevant to your sector and size in Malaysia. We do not use generic global figures and present them as local benchmarks.
Our deliverables include working tables that you can update over time, not just a static snapshot that becomes outdated within months.
What clients often say: "The benchmarks actually reflected what companies like ours are doing, not what companies ten times our size are doing."
What clients often say: "It felt like working with someone who genuinely cared about how things turned out, not just completing a deliverable."
Service shaped around people, not transactions
HR work involves real people โ their careers, their sense of fairness, their dignity at work. We take that seriously throughout an engagement, not just in the final report.
For sensitive work like difficult conversation preparation, we create a space where you can think out loud without being judged. We are not there to assess your management โ we are there to help you navigate something genuinely hard.
Outcomes that stay useful
We do not measure our success by the size of the report we produce. We measure it by whether the people who commissioned the work found it genuinely useful โ in the weeks and months after the engagement ends, not just at the handover meeting.
That means our recommendations need to be actionable within your actual constraints โ time, budget, leadership appetite โ not just theoretically sound.
What clients often say: "The report sat on our table for months, and we kept going back to it. That felt like value."
How We Compare
Lintel House vs. typical HR consultancies
This is not a claim that we are better in all respects โ it is an honest description of where our model differs.
| Aspect | Typical Providers | Lintel House |
|---|---|---|
| Who delivers the work | โ Often junior staff post-proposal | Senior consultants throughout |
| Number of clients at once | โ Many; attention is divided | Small roster; full attention |
| Engagement outcome | โ May recommend ongoing retainer | Self-contained; no dependency |
| Approach to recommendations | โ Prescriptive; templates applied | Observational; context-specific |
| Pricing | โ Often quoted after scoping; unclear | Published clearly on website |
| Malaysia context | โ Often adapted from global frameworks | Built here; grounded locally |
Distinctive Features
What you will not find elsewhere
The Reflection Strip
Every service description includes a short paragraph on what the engagement typically feels like from the client's side. We think transparency about process and experience is part of what it means to be a good firm to work with.
A no-cost initial conversation
We do not charge for the initial call to explore fit. If after that conversation it seems like we are not the right choice for your situation, we will say so โ and we may be able to point you toward someone who is.
Candour about limitations
We are an HR consulting practice, not an employment law firm. When a client's situation requires legal advice, we say so clearly and do not attempt to fill that gap. Clear limits are, we think, a sign of integrity.
Both sides of the table
Our team has worked as employees, managers, and HR practitioners โ not just as consultants. That rounded experience means we hold a more complete picture of what organisations feel like from the inside.
