What We Offer

Three ways we can work together

Each engagement is shaped to the particular needs of your organisation. These are the areas where we most often find ourselves useful.

People practice review

People Practice Review

A considered look at how your organisation currently approaches the full arc of employee experience — from first contact through to departure. We read policies, hold conversations with HR colleagues, and observe team rituals.

  • Narrative report with observations
  • Guided questions for leadership
  • Suited to 50–500 staff

Clients often describe this as the first time someone has looked at their HR practices without trying to sell them something.

Compensation structure review

Compensation Structure Review

A careful examination of how pay is currently organised within your business, undertaken with sensitivity to both the numbers and the conversations around them. We work with HR and finance teams to map existing bands and identify areas for gentle adjustment.

  • Written review and working tables
  • Benchmarking against comparable firms
  • Facilitated leadership conversation

Clients often say this work gave them a language for pay conversations that they had been struggling to find on their own.

Difficult conversation preparation

Difficult Conversation Preparation

A shorter engagement for managers preparing for a sensitive conversation — a performance concern, a role change, or a departure. We offer a confidential space to prepare, with structured sessions and a written outline. Framed around respect for both parties.

  • Two one-hour sessions
  • Written points outline
  • Optional debrief afterwards

Managers often arrive feeling tense and leave with a clearer sense of what they want to say and how they want to say it.

Why Lintel House

What shapes how we work

We are not a large firm, and that is deliberate. Each engagement receives our full attention.

Observations, not prescriptions

We share what we see and invite your team to decide what to do with it. We do not arrive with a predetermined answer.

Discretion as standard

HR work touches the most personal aspects of working life. We treat everything we hear with care and do not discuss one client's situation with another.

Collaborative from the start

We work with your existing HR team, not around them. Their knowledge of your organisation is something we try to build on rather than set aside.

Grounded in Malaysia

We understand the workplace culture and employment context here. Our frameworks are not imported wholesale from elsewhere.

Measured, honest assessments

We do not overstate what we find. If something is working reasonably well, we say so. If something needs attention, we say that too.

Clear scope, clear timeline

Before we begin, we agree on what we will do and roughly when. We do not create dependency or extend engagements unnecessarily.

Would a conversation be useful?

Many of our engagements begin with a short call to see whether there is a useful fit. There is no charge for that initial conversation, and no obligation to proceed.

Common Questions

Things people often ask us

How does an engagement usually begin?

We usually start with a short call — around thirty minutes — to understand what you are dealing with and whether one of our services might be relevant. If it seems like a good fit, we will send a brief written proposal outlining scope, timeline, and fee. Nothing is formalised until you are comfortable with the arrangement.

Who do you typically work with?

Our clients are usually growing private-sector organisations in Malaysia — often in the range of fifty to several hundred staff — with an in-house HR function that is stretched or facing a specific challenge. We also work with individual managers preparing for a difficult conversation, regardless of company size.

How long does a typical project take?

It depends on the service. The People Practice Review and Compensation Structure Review generally run between four and eight weeks. The Difficult Conversation Preparation is much shorter — typically two sessions within one to two weeks. We will always give you a realistic timeline before we begin.

Are the fees fixed or do they vary?

The fees shown on our site are our standard rates for the scope described. Some engagements may be slightly adjusted if your situation is considerably smaller or more complex than the norm — we would discuss that openly before any agreement is reached.

How do you handle confidential information?

We take confidentiality seriously. Everything shared with us — policies, salary data, personal circumstances — is treated with discretion. We include a non-disclosure agreement as part of our standard engagement terms.

Do you provide ongoing HR support after the project?

We do not offer a retainer or ongoing support as a standard model. Our intention is for engagements to be self-contained and useful on their own. That said, some clients return to us for a follow-up conversation some months later — we are open to that where it makes sense.
